Where you have people, you inevitably have conflict. And that’s fine. It’s how that conflict is handed that is important.
One of the reasons that Book of Tomorrow is an adults-only game is so we can expect a certain amount of maturity. Much as Staff doesn’t want to micromanage the Player’s RP, nor does Staff want to play referee between Player disputes. To that end, we expect Players to first make attempts to deal with the conflict between each other.
We recognize however, that sometimes intervention is required and that is where Staff will step in when asked or if they feel it is affecting the game at large. There are a few ways to do this:
- Page an On-Duty staffer to request assistance. Said staffer will step in and listen to both sides and review any supporting material (such as logs). If they feel they are able, they will make a ruling at that time. They may need some time so they can confer with other Staff to help come to the best decision they can!
- Contact Staff to lodge a formal complaint. This should contain the complaint/nature of the conflict and who is involved. Staff will then contact the parties involved, collect supporting material, etc.
In serious cases, Players may be asked to avoid contact with each other both ICly and OOCly. In extreme cases, a Player may be sitebanned from the game.
